On October 4, 2023, CFHR participated in the UNODC Constructive Dialogue on Trafficking in Persons. The event provided a platform for civil society organizations, including the CFHR to contribute to the review process of the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC).
During the dialogue, CFHR emphasized the critical role of civil society in combating trafficking by identifying key factors that create hotspots for organized crime in Pakistan. We highlighted the need for evidence-based tools to assess law enforcement interventions, ensuring that anti-trafficking measures are effective and responsive to the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly women and children.
CFHR also underscored the importance of community-based information sharing and capacity-building initiatives to enhance human rights compliance and victim-centered approaches in law enforcement responses.
