Think Before You Click

Goal

The campaign aimed to raise public awareness of the growing threat of cybercrime in Pakistan and to give people the knowledge to protect themselves online.

Through the #thinkbeforeyouclick campaign, complex concepts were simplified into practical safety tips. The strategy was to publish an informational post every day, to keep people taking part and remembering what they had learned.

About the Campaign Lead

Mahru Hasan Syed is a third-year BA-LLB student at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), with a keen interest in human rights and public international law. She has also interned with law firms including Kazmi & Kazmi and Lexium.

“I joined YCAP because I believe civic engagement should begin with awareness. Cybercrime is one of the fastest growing threats in Pakistan, affecting everyone, from ordinary citizens to global corporations. Young people are often the most exposed to online threats, yet the least informed about legal protections. This campaign was an effort to bridge that gap.”

“What made YCAP so valuable was the platform it provided to turn awareness into action. It allowed me to channel my concern into a structured campaign, while equipping me with mentorship and resources.”
